Ms. Teav graduated from Santa Clara University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and Bachelor of Science degree in 2000. In 2004, Ms. Teav received her Juris Doctor from University of California, Hastings School of the Law.

While attending University of California, Hastings School of the Law, Ms. Teav was a member of the Constitutional Law Quarterly and was given an American Jurisprudence Award for coursework in negotiation and settlement. During her studies, Ms. Teav attended the International Institute for Human Rights in Strasbourg, France, and completed an externship for the Honorable John E. Munter of the San Francisco Superior Court.

Ms. Teav was admitted to the California State Bar in 2004. She is licensed to practice in the U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit, and the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Eastern Districts of California. She is a member of the Santa Clara County Bar Association.
