Mr. Gagliardi received his law degree from Stanford Law School in 1988. He served as a law clerk to the Hon. John T. Elfvin, United States District Judge for the Western District of New York, and the Hon. Edward A. Infante, United States Magistrate Judge for the Northern District of California.
Mr. Gagliardi's area of practice is business and intellectual property litigation. Previously a partner at Bergeson, LLP for over twelve years, he has appeared in state and federal courts throughout California on behalf of technology clients. Mr. Gagliardi’s experience includes the gamut of intellectual property disputes, including trade secret, copyright and patent infringement matters. Mr. Gagliardi was instrumental in winning a several hundred million dollar lawsuit for Inktomi Corporation. In another significant matter, he represented a semiconductor packaging and test assembly firm in a dispute involving semiconductor chips and an industry-wide failure related to compounds manufactured by a foreign supplier. A federal judge, in an order awarding a client substantial attorneys’ fees, called Mr. Gagliardi a "skilled and experienced" litigator.
Mr. Gagliardi has also served as a special master in discovery disputes in the Northern District of California.
Mr. Gagliardi is active in the San Jose community. He is a member of the Rotary Club of San Jose and on the boards of directors of History San Jose, the San Jose Downtown Association, and Soccer Silicon Valley. In 1999 and 2007, Mr. Gagliardi received awards from the City of San Jose for his neighborhood leadership.
