As one of the Founders of Robinson & Wood, Archie S. Robinson has been a participant in the expansion of Silicon Valley from the early 1960's to the present. He has successfully tried lawsuits in both the State and Federal Courts in California and elsewhere for more than three decades. Mr. Robinson is a Fellow in the prestigious American College of Trial Lawyers, and has attained the rank of Advocate in the American Board of Trial Advocates.

For more than twenty years, Archie Robinson has been selected as one of the "Best Lawyers in America." Best Lawyers is an annual publication based on rigorous peer-review by the top attorneys in the country. Again, in 2008, Mr. Robinson was designated by his peers to be a "Super Lawyer" in the specialty of intellectual property litigation. In 1991, he was named by the National Law Journal as one of the 25 outstanding Insurance Defense attorneys in the U.S. In 1997, he received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Defense Research Institute, a group of 21,000 litigation specialists, of which he was president in 1990. He is also past president (and founder) of the California Defense Counsel and the Association of Defense Counsel of Northern California.

Born and raised in Long Beach, California Mr. Robinson received his undergraduate degree from Columbia University (where he played varsity baseball) and his legal degree from Stanford Law School. He has taught trial advocacy at Stanford Law School and delivers the annual lecture on the law of bad faith for the Insurance Law class at the University of Santa Clara School of Law.

Mr. Robinson served as Chairman of the Board of CityTeam Ministries for many years. He currently sits on the board of Advent Group Ministries of San Jose, a group home facility for wards of the juvenile court and other youngsters who find it impossible to live safely at home. Mr. Robinson also serves as a board member of Young Life in Asia, an international outreach to young people in Asia.
