Mr. Doko was born in Toronto, Canada, and raised in San Jose, California. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. In 1998, he received his Juris Doctor from Boston University School of Law.

Mr. Doko served as a staff attorney for the U.S. Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals in Georgia. He gained trial experience as an assistant solicitor for the Office of the Solicitor General for the City of Atlanta, prosecuting misdemeanor criminal offenses. He also practiced as a criminal defense attorney.

He is a member of both the State Bar of California and Georgia, and is admitted to practice before the Georgia Court of Appeals, Supreme Court of Georgia, and U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
