Dorothy Tran earned her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences, with an emphasis in Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in French, from the University of California, Davis in 2001. She received her Juris Doctor degree with a concentration in Litigation in 2006 from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan.

During law school, she served as Senior Associate Editor for the Thomas M. Cooley Law Review and Publications Director of the Mock Trial Board. She also participated in a number of Moot Court and Trial competitions and was awarded the highest grade in Trial Advocacy. Additionally, she was a member of the Women’s Law Alliance and provided legal services to low-income women and mentoring to young women in Lansing, Michigan. While in law school, Ms. Tran worked for a number of Michigan law firms and handled a variety of criminal law, family law, and civil litigation cases, including divorce, child custody, bankruptcy, debt collection and personal injury litigation. After law school, Ms. Tran returned to California to work as a Law Clerk at Robinson & Wood, Inc. prior to being admitted to the California Bar.

Currently, Ms. Tran is a member of the California State Bar, the Santa Clara County Bar Association, the Association of Defense Counsel of Northern California, the American Bar Association, and the Asian Pacific Bar of the Silicon Valley. She also serves on the Executive Boards of the Vietnamese American Bar Association of Northern California and Vietnamese American Professional Women Association of Silicon Valley.

Ms. Tran’s current practice includes personal injury litigation, professional negligence, employment law, and commercial litigation.

Ms. Tran is fluent in Vietnamese and French.
