LEGAL MALPRACTICE
The defense of lawyers charged with substandard professional conduct has been a prominent part of our practice for years. The areas of law involved in the underlying facts of these matters have included domestic relations, personal injury, real estate, probate, and estate planning. Most of these cases have been brought against prominent law firms whose substantial self-insured retentions entitle them to designate counsel. We regard the selection of our firm as counsel of record to be the highest possible compliment.

MEDICAL MALPRACTICE
Both physicians and hospitals have been our clients in medical malpractice litigation over the years. After California's medical malpractice reform legislation took effect, most of the cases in this field have been restricted to higher economic damage cases. Recently, peer review and credential hearings have become a larger part of the medical practice work. The nearby Stanford Medical School serves as a world class resource for both expert witnesses and medical research.

BROKERS AND AGENTS LIABILITY
Real estate and insurance agents and brokers are becoming more frequent targets of liability suits. We have successfully defended such suits, many of which have involved highly specialized issues of standard of care and causation. In addition, we represent a host of other professionals in various matters alleging malpractice, including, for example, mortgage brokers, an administrator of workers compensation claims and the Visiting Nurses' Association.
